The Oregon Coast Invitational at Southwestern Oregon Community College’s Oregon Coast Culinary Institute being held on April 14th, 2018, and is filling up with students from around the Northwest. The competition begins on Saturday April 14th at 8:00 am with staggered starting times to allow for students to compete in both competitions if necessary.
In addition to the top three in each competitions winning scholarships, every student participating will receive a minimum of a $250 scholarship to attend OCCI.
Awards to winning individual competitors in the Culinary and the Baking competitions:
1st place finishers will receive a $4,000 scholarship to OCCI
2nd place finishers will receive a $3,000 scholarship to OCCI
3rd place finishers will receive a $2,000 scholarship to OCCI
Also, the top three of each category individual’s school will be given a cash prize to purchase equipment for their culinary program.
There will be two competitions – Culinary & Baking
Culinary: Chicken Cordon Bleu, an individual interpretation
Baking: Strawberry Shortcake, an individual interpretation
The entry fees for this year’s competition is being paid for by Day Ship Supply. Once the “Intent to Compete” form is submitted and received by OCCI, you will have your position(s) secured. Meals included are the Friday night dinner, a continental breakfast Saturday morning, and an Awards Banquet lunch. The awards ceremony and lunch will begin at approximately 12:30 pm Saturday. All food will be produced by our Catering Department.
